Here are some ideas for painted tube activities using recycled kitchen paper rolls.
This can support the multiple areas of the EYFS….
Areas supported in this activity:
Activity 1 – Tubes
Get children to choose what colours they want to use, then encourage them to paint them.
you don’t have to use paint, you can use a range of materials to decorate the tubes, pens, glue and paper.
Activity 2 – bottle lids
Keep hold of any bottle lids of different colours and encourage children to match up the right colours to the tubes.
See what bottle lids fit in the tubes and which are too big.
Activity 3 – Balls
Using coloured balls or any other larger objects and encourage children to balance them on top of the tubes.
For older children see how far they can move while balancing it on the tubes.
Activity 4 –
Stick the tubes to a wall and use small objects or pom poms to put into the tubes and watch them fall, the bottle lids will work also.
Remember to put a basket or container under the tubes to catch what falls out.
